Opportunities

An opportunity is one job the customer wants: a service, at an address, with a price. You book a visit, the tech's appointment at the address, from it.

Quick Answer - 30 Seconds

To create one: right column → Create the opportunity → pick the Service and check What's wrong → Create opportunity → add the address if asked → Back to the opportunity → Book a visit.

Already one there? The button reads Manage opportunities. Open it and book from the card.

Create the opportunity: pick the service, check What's wrong, Create opportunity

Where opportunities live

Opportunities open in a drawer that slides in from the right. You get there two ways:

  • The button at the foot of the right column: Create the opportunity when there is none yet, Manage opportunities once one exists.
  • The Create the opportunity row in Next actions → Create. The row tells you if the AI assistant already wrote the problem down.

Create the opportunity

  1. Click Create the opportunity.

  2. If the app asks for something first, fill it in. It asks in this order, and only for what is missing:

    • Mobile phone → Save.
    • Full name → Save. Use a first and a last name.
  3. In Service, pick the service. Type to search when the list is long.

  4. Check What's wrong. On a new record it already holds the AI's summary of the problem. Fix anything it got wrong.

  5. Click Create opportunity.

  6. If the lead (the customer's request, tied to one address) has no address yet, the app asks for one:

    • No address on the record at all? Service address opens. Pick the address from the suggestions, choose the Location type (required), tick The caller can authorize work here if they can, then Save address. It becomes this lead's by itself.
    • The customer has addresses already? Locations opens. Click Use for this lead on the row of the job's address, or Add address for a new one.

Locations now shows the job's address with This lead. More in Contacts and Addresses.

  7. Click Back to the opportunity.

  8. Click Book a visit on the card. See Booking Appointments.

Lead already had an address? The qualification questions open right after step 5, so you are already booking.

Not sure which service?

Leave Service empty and describe the problem in What's wrong (at least 4 characters). OnePath picks the service from your words. Check the card afterwards.

Read the opportunity card

Click Manage opportunities to see every opportunity on the record. Ones not booked yet come first, then booked visits by date.

Each card shows:

On the cardWhat it means
Service nameThe job. A tag such as Urgent, Won or Lost appears when it matters. Won means a visit is booked; a cancelled visit turns it Lost.
Price, top right$3,725 potential, $3,725 quoted, Not priced yet or Included in the plan. See Customer Asks About Pricing.
AddressWhere the tech goes. No address yet or Outside service area means you cannot book yet.
Amber lineSomething to sort out first, for example Waiting on an answer: …
Visit lineThe arrival window and its status: Scheduled, Done, Rescheduled or Cancelled.

The buttons under the card:

  • Book a visit: start booking. Greyed out until the address is in, and missing when the address is outside the service area.
  • Reschedule / Cancel the visit: only once a visit is booked.
  • Details: see and fix the opportunity.

The card says Outside service area

The business doesn't cover that address, so you can't book it.

  1. Read the address back to the customer.
  2. Wrong address? Fix it: Details → Change address, or Locations → Use for this lead on the row of the job's address.
  3. Right address? Tell the customer the business doesn't serve that area. Then Resolve & close with Service Not Offered.

The service or the problem is wrong

  1. Manage opportunities → Details on the card.
  2. Change Service or What's wrong.
  3. Click Save changes. The button wakes up only after you change something.

Changing the service changes the price and the qualification questions too. If a visit is already booked, Details warns you: the visit stays as it is, so you may need to book it again.

Details also shows The lead behind it: source, location, property, authorization, type, urgency and outcome. You read these here; you change them on the record.

To change the address, use Change address at the top of Details.

The customer needs a second job

Click Manage opportunities → New opportunity. Create it the same way. Each opportunity is booked on its own.

Visits the office booked

Some cards have no price and no Details. Those are visits booked straight in the account's field-service system, not through OnePath. They show the job, the window and a tag: Confirmed or Not confirmed by the office.

On an upcoming one you can still Reschedule or Cancel the visit. Past and cancelled ones are there to read.

Quick Tips

  • ✅ Read What's wrong before you create - the tech reads it too.
  • ✅ Pick the service yourself when you can - it sets the price and the questions.
  • ✅ One job, one opportunity - a second problem gets New opportunity.
  • ❌ Don't change the service on a booked visit unless you're ready to book it again.
