What your visitors see
What a visitor sees after clicking your booking button, step by step, and which OnePath setting controls each part.
The scheduler opens as a centered modal on desktop and full screen on a phone. It has three steps, REQUEST → ADDRESS → SCHEDULE, then a confirmation. Completed steps in the progress bar are clickable, so a visitor can go back. The visitor closes it with the ✕ or the Esc key; clicking outside does not close it.
The header shows your logo over your brand color. The footer shows "Powered by OnePath" and links to your privacy policy and terms of service. The flow is English only, accepts US and Canadian addresses, and expects a 10-digit North American phone number.
Step 1: Request
Phone number first. The visitor types their phone number. As soon as ten digits are in, OnePath looks it up:
- Known customer: "Welcome back, {name}! Your contact details are saved, we'll pre-fill step 2 for you."
- New visitor: "Welcome! First time here? We'll set up everything for you along the way."
"What brings you here?" shows chips for your services (for example "No cooling", "Water heater", "Get an Estimate"). Which chips appear, and in what order, comes from your Services and the Web Scheduler template in use.
"Which one?" appears when the chosen service has more than one type of equipment. It is skipped when there is only one.
Qualification questions appear when the service has them. A question can be multiple choice, a short text answer, or a photo upload (JPG, PNG, GIF or WEBP, up to 15 MB each). Required questions carry a *; optional ones may be left blank. Photo questions show "Adding a photo helps our technician come prepared."
Free text. Depending on the service, the visitor sees an optional details box. If they picked "Don't know / Other", a description is required.
Text-message consent. Two unchecked, optional checkboxes let the visitor opt in to texts about their service and to marketing texts. Neither is required to continue.
Continue stays disabled until the phone number is recognized, a service is chosen, and required questions are answered. Fine print: "By continuing, you confirm you are the property owner or authorized decision-maker."
Disclaimer screen. If the service has disqualification instructions in Services, the visitor sees a short disclaimer and must tap I Understand, Confirm before moving on.
Step 2: Address
"Confirm your details." A new visitor enters their full name (first and last), an optional email, and the service address. The address field uses Google autocomplete, restricted to your country (US or Canada). They also pick a Location type: Residential or Commercial.
A known customer sees their saved addresses as cards and picks one, or taps "Use a different address". Addresses outside your service area are shown but disabled.
Outside the service area. If the zip code is not in your Service Areas, a banner says "Outside our service area" with your phone and email, and the visitor cannot continue.
Handled by your office. If the service's Desired Outcome is Escalate, the visitor sees "This service is handled by our office. Our team will contact you shortly to discuss the details and schedule your appointment." No calendar is shown; the lead lands with your team instead.
Step 3: Schedule
"Pick a date & time." A calendar in your account's time zone shows only dates with open slots. Selecting a date lists time windows as buttons; each shows its label and, when fees apply, "Service Fee: Member $X · Non-member $Y". The time zone name (for example "Eastern Time (ET)") is shown above the slots.
"Need it sooner? Request Call Back" opens a short form: "We'll call you at {phone} as soon as possible today…" with an optional note. Submitting creates a call-back request instead of an appointment.
Book Appointment confirms the slot. Fine print: "By booking, you agree to be contacted regarding this service request."
Confirmation
"You're all set, {name}! Your appointment has been confirmed." with Service, Date and Time cards and "We'll send a confirmation and reminder to {phone}." A "Need to change this appointment?" link lets the visitor cancel (a reason of at least ten characters is required) and start over.
A call-back request shows "Request Received! We'll call you as soon as possible." instead.
Recurring services (memberships)
If Recurring Services are set up and the phone number belongs to a member, step 1 shows a "Use my membership" strip listing their covered services. Choosing it switches to a membership flow: pick a location, tick the recurring services to bundle into one visit (up to four hours), then pick a date. The button reads Book My Recurring Maintenance Visit. "Book a different service" returns to the normal flow.
Session timeout
If a visitor is past step 1 and does nothing for three minutes, the widget starts over at step 1 and shows "Your session timed out, so we started fresh." Nothing they had entered is booked.

Quick Tips
- ✅ Book a test appointment on staging - it is the fastest way to see every screen with your real services
- ✅ Set the Desired Outcome to Escalate for anything you would rather quote by phone - the visitor still leaves their details
- ❌ Don't expect a floating chat bubble - the scheduler and chat only open from buttons you place
- ❌ Don't rely on the widget for non-US/CA addresses - autocomplete is restricted to your account's country
